Swiss GDP rises higher than forecast in third quarter

NEW YORK (Forex News Now) – Switzerland’s gross domestic product rose higher than forecast in the third quarter, data showed on Thursday in the country’s major realtime forex news event for the day

The economy grew at a rate of 0.7% in the third quarter, down from a revised figure of 0.8% growth in the second quarter, according to figures released by the Federal Statistical Office.

However, analysts had expected the third quarter figure to come in at around 0.5% growth, two major online FX trading news outlets reported.

The swissy rose slightly against the dollar in currency market trading Thursday: USD/CHF traded at 1.0020 at around 7:15 A.M., GMT, down 0.03% for the day.
